Air Force Armament Museum & Beach pictures

I went to the US Air Force Armament Museum.  I thought this would be a good chance to test out the new lens.  As many of you know, it's a nightmare to try and take pictures at museums due to the dim lights.  If you don't use a flash, the pictures come out blurry due to camera shake.  If you do use a flash, then you get really bright hot spots and the area around the bright spots are dark.  Don't even get me started on things behind glass with a flash...

Anyway, this museum has both outside and inside exhibitions.  The outside consists of planes and inside consists mostly of different types of armaments.

I also stopped by the beach on the way home and took some pictures.  It was overcast, but I like how the pictures came out.

UH-1 Iroquios

F-15 Eagle

A-10 "Tank Killer"

AC-130 Spectre - This thing is crazy with all the guns.

I didn't get the name of this plane.  Look at the score card.

The almighty B-17 Flying Fortress

Guess what plane this is???

Give up?

Yes, it's the Blackbird.  The SR-71.  This thing is huge.  It's a cockpit built on a fuel tank with 2 huge engines on the side.

Okay, now onto the indoor shots.  This is where my new lens really came in handy.  The f2.8 really helped out.

The Fat Man bomb!

On the drive home, I decided to stop by the beach and get some pictures.  Enjoy!

Photo Challenge #10 - Statutesque

This picture was taken awhile ago...enjoy!

Finally got off my lazy butt and went out to shoot some pictures.  I went out around 5am to get some sunrise pictures.  It was too early and cold.  I don't even remember most of it because I was half asleep.  Pictures didn't turn out as good as I had hoped.  I need to get out more to shoot.

This was the first place I stopped to get the sky getting brighter.  I could have sworn the sun was rising here.  After about 20 minutes, I turned around by accident and realized I was facing WEST and not EAST.  I almost missed the sunrise.

Here is a picture of some nice condos with the sun about to rise in the background.  The red streak going across the bottom left is a car that drove by while taking this picture.

A flock of seagulls with sunlight penetrating the clouds on the left.

Otherwise boring image made more interesting thanks to Photoshop.

Another picture added.  I took this right before the sunset and I was afraid I didn't have enough light to take the picture handheld, but it came out sharp.
